Western Pennsylvania HIV/AIDS Resources

www.m4mhealthysex.org:  M4mhealthysex.org is a joint effort between the Pennsylvania Prevention Project and the Pitt Men's Study at the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh.  Its purpose is to provide reliable, up-to-date sexual health information for men who have sex with men (MSM) in the state of Pennsylvania.

 

Pennsylvania MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center: Provides HIV/AIDS-related training to health care providers.


Persad Center, Inc.:  The nation’s second oldest licensed counseling center specifically created to serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.  Also provides counseling to persons with HIV/AIDS


Pitt Men's Study: Confidential HIV/AIDS research study that has been ongoing in Pittsburgh for the past 18 years


Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment (PACT): HIV/AIDS-related patient care, education and research

 

Project HOPE (HIV Outreach Prevenion and Education), a program of Drug and Alcohol Services of Beaver Valley, provides HIV support groups and a food bank to HIV/AIDS-infected individuals. Project HOPE provides confidential oral HIV testing Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Drug and Alcohol Services, 697 State St., Beaver PA 15009. Shepherd Wellness Community: AIDS service organization offering support and assistance to persons affected by HIV/AIDS


Southwestern Pennsylvania AIDS Planning Coalition (SWPAPC): Regional network of organizations and individuals whose mission is to assess, define, plan for and stimulate development of comprehensive systems of prevention, education, and care which respond to the HIV epidemic and to persons with or affected by HIV/AIDS within the 11-county region which it serves

Travelers Aid: Travelers Aid provides bus tickets for medical appointments and appointments at PATF for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

 

Staying Positive provides a supportive social network for young people who are HIV positive.
